It's interesting that when you observe professional tennis players, you never hear of them not playing because of tennis elbow. Usually they complain of leg joint pains or hamstring injuries, sometimes back injuries. This is not because they don't get it, it is because they get good treatment for it. Soft tissue massage treatments usually do the trick.
Thank you for a great article.

Hi Deb. I consulted with an orthopedist and he provided this answer:

Lumps on the elbow can be caused from a variety of problems. Most commonly, bursitis and inflammation will cause areas of tenderness and swelling in the elbow. However, it is best to have this evaluated by a physician to give you the correct diagnosis and treatment options.

Hope this helps.

I have a sore lump on inside of elbow. Sometimes it swells. Sometimes it causes cramps in my arm. What could this be? Bursitis? How is it treated?

I believe once enough research has been dedicated to this, there will be a decrease in infections, etc. Can stem cell research be introduced to this practice?

The treatment of chronic pediatric pain would benefit from the development and support of cooperative pediatric chronic pain research consortia. The good news is that safe and effective medical treatment for chronic pain is currently available. A major barrier to be overcome, however, is that chronic pain is often not viewed as a physical illness worthy of treatment.
